While I did not get much feedback from my first elevator pitch, I definitely think that the feedback I did receive was key in forming and structuring this new elevator pitch. I tried to introduce my topic earlier than before and I also tried to improve the lighting in the room as well (though it was not as beneficial as I thought).
Hey Alan, I think one of the improvements you could make with the lighting would be possibly recording your pitch so that the light is in front of you instead of behind you. That would be up to you for placement. As for introducing your topic earlier than before, I thought that was a good decision. It would definitely help investors know if they want to support that venture's goals.
ReplyDeleteHi Alan, I agree lighting is always hard; especially when you're limited on recording material like most of us are. Another trick that might work with the lighting is using natural lighting- getting a video at the right point in the day through a bug window is always helpful. Other than that I think your pitch it great, you're very charismatic and seem really excited about your product. Your clarity in explaining how you think it'll work is key, and I really think you're on a good path to a great pitch. Keep up the good work and good luck!
ReplyDeleteAlan,
ReplyDeleteGreat job on taking the idea on introducing the topic earlier, that definitely did help with clarity. Regarding the lighting issue I would go about placing the light in front of you instead of behind you next time. Now for tips I would say just practice, a pitch is something you can do without even thinking about it and you should be able to make any sort of adjustments to your pitch depending on the audience you are presenting it to. Overall great job.
Hey Alan. I would agree with Louis on placing the light in a different position if you plan to record another video like this. It could be in front of you, to a side, or under you, but it should be placed somewhere that won't cast such a big shadow. Also, I would remark that body language means everything in these situations. The pitch seems well-rehearsed. I think you can improve on how you position yourself while you speak so that way we (the audience) can view you in a better light and so that it can build your credibility.
ReplyDeleteHi Alan, great job on the elevator pitch. I think you and I both did the same thing-- which was angle the camera from below. I would have to say maybe changing the angle of the camera would be good. Also- I think you did a great job improving the introduction from the first elevator pitch--so good work!
